We're all gamers

This time I want to write about something more personal. Just read the post. I am sure you will like it.

I started playing videogames at the age of 5 or 6. I think my first videogames were in a Nintendo DS and a Game Boy Color. If I remember well, the first games I played were some of the Super Mario series and Pokémon Yellow. My mother is also gamer, so I started playing thanks to her. Most of the consoles we had were of her. So, the first desktop console where I played was in a PlayStation 3. I started with Little Big Planet. I remember that game with so much love. There's were it started my relationship with PlayStation consoles and games.

As you see, I've liked videogames for so many years. I am not a veteran, I haven't played hundred of games but I've played a lot and I feel so much love for this hobby. It is difficult to say a definitive list of my favorite videogames, but I am sure of some of them.

The Last of Us is by far the best videogame I've played. I loved its story, its characters and its main duo, Joel and Ellie, two legends of the videogames. The first time I played the whole game was with the remaster that was released for PlayStation 4. I played the remake for PlayStation 5 a few years later and I enjoyed it almost like the first time.

This videogame is a truly prove that videogames are not for children. Videogames can have adult plots, with moral dilemmas and too much narrative depth, at the same level of some films and series.

Skyrim was one of the games I've spent the most hours. I played for the first time when I was around 10 or 11 years old, maybe earlier, and, nowadays, sometimes I still play it. It was part of my childhood, and it made me feel in love with roleplay games, mostly science-fiction and medieval ones.

The community have been keeping this game alive, we really love this game and we are expecting for the next game of the Elder Scrolls franchise to be released.

Elden Ring. It is a recent release, but I enjoyed too much the first run I did in that game. I like souls-like games since I played Bloodborne in 2017, if I remember well. At this point I want to talk with you about one discussed topic: the difficulty of those games.

I am sure we all had problems with many bosses in the Dark Souls series, also in Bloodborne and maybe Elden Ring, despite of not being one of the easiest games from FromSoftware. But those games teach you some important things like the pacience and the perseverance. Trying it again and again when you are facing a challenge. When something is very difficult for you, you have to fight. You must beat the obstacule to achieve your objective. I learned that with those difficult videogames, not only souls-like but other hard games too.

Minecraft was also a big important part of my life. I met one of my best friends on an online minigame, I think around 8 years ago or more. It was also one of the first games I've played in my life and the game I've bought the most, in different platforms. It is a relaxing game and it is perfect for children, as they can develop their creativity in an effective way. You can build and make whatever you imagine, as this is the only limit. It is also a good tool for developers, offering functions they can use for creating more advanced and complex maps and mechanics.

But probably you may know that playing Minecraft was too "freaky" a lot of years ago. People laughed at the people who played Minecraft, and if you were one of those persons, don't worry, I understand you, I was one of them too. But I didn't care and I have never regretted of my tastes. You must be proud of having your own personality and for not being influenced by all the people and things that are around you. That has been always my mindset.

Once I have talked about this problem, I want to say that, despite what we like, the games we play, the style of gameplay we have, the frequency we play, the platform we play on, the streamers we like the most, we are all gamers. All of us conform the gamer community, and we all have to feel respect between us, help to those who need it and who don't feel like they have a place in this community.

Every year it feels like gamers are dividing more and more. Don't worry for being different. In any way we are all different, but the most important thing we have in common, is that we are gamers. I play mostly on PlayStation 5, PC and Nintendo Switch. I prefer RPGs, souls-likes and horror games. I watch only a few streamers just from my country, and sometimes. I am a big fan of franchises that don't seems to have too many fans. I usually prefer playing alone. I like to play the same games as always.

Do you have the same tastes and preferences as me? In that case, you see? You're not alone. Always there will be someone like you, somewhere in the world. But there will be.
